Safety policy
The safety boundaries applied to every record.
Red conditions
Cracked cookware, enamel chips that expose bare iron, and deep pitting that weakens the pan are stop-and-assess conditions. This site never tells you a damaged pan is “always safe.”
Heat and ventilation
Seasoning and deodorizing involve heat and smoke. Keep ventilation open, never leave a pan unattended at high heat, and stop if smoke becomes heavy or continuous.
Chemical boundaries
Lye baths, electrolysis, and oven self-clean cycles are advanced methods with real risks. They are documented with explicit safety boundaries and never recommended for enameled cookware or in food-prep areas without training.
